Tom is new
to selling real estate, but brings 25 years of related
business experience, with the leading vacation rental
software company that he helped found, and almost a
lifetime relationship with Aspen and Colorado.
Tom first moved to Aspen in 1958, and attended 2nd and
3rd grade in the Red Brick (the only school in town at
the time). By the end of 4th grade, the Yellow Brick was
built and housed the lower 6 grades. The high school
years were spent in Denver and included competing in
Alpine skiing and other sports all over the region,
including Aspen and the recently built Snowmass.
After graduating from Dartmouth College with a degree in
Music, Tom returned to Aspen for a year of painting
houses and coaching skiing. Then, he was off to world
travels, with |

almost two years in West Berlin,
Germany, teaching guitar to German children, and studying French
in Paris for several months. This was in preparation for at
stint at New York University, where he earned a Master’s of Arts
degree in Musicology. Summers during graduate school offered a
great opportunity to participate in the Aspen Music School, in
1975 as a part-time contributor to choral concerts and operas
and in 1976 as a full-time conducting student at the Choral
Institute with Fiora Contino.
Tom returned to Aspen in 1983 with his wife, Scottie.
Both Daughters, now in their 20’s, were born here and
attended the Aspen schools from K-12. In 1984, Tom
co-founded Curry Leddy, Inc. a local, solution-oriented
computer company. One year later, First Resort Software,
Inc. was born to supply software to vacation rental
managers locally and nationally. FRS grew to over 60
employees and over 1000 clients. Tom was president of
FRS from its beginnings, until it merged with several
management companies to form ResortQuest International,
Inc. After a few years with ResortQuest, Tom started
Leddy Associates, Inc. in 2002 to provide consulting
services to companies within the vacation rental
business, aimed at improving profitability through
process improvement, greater financial and market
awareness, and implementing industry best practices. On
December 15, 2004, First Resort Software was acquired by
Instant Software, Inc. and the ISI management brought
Tom back as Chief Operating Officer. The relationship
lasted until the end of 2007.
2008 began with a real estate license and a desk at Peak
Properties. Tom’s contacts within the vacation rental
industry, in virtually every North American resort,
coupled with general business and analytical skills,
should lead to some very good opportunities.
